Project Summary

Create Construction completed a full ground-up, design-build project for a second home in Trail Creek, just outside Bozeman, MT. Our team worked closely with out-of-state clients to create a vacation home that could comfortably host extended family, withstand all seasons, and reflect the clients’ vision for a durable, beautiful mountain getaway. The 3,000+ square foot home incorporated reclaimed timber, trusses, and custom concrete and steel detailing.

Communication was key throughout the build. With the clients in another time zone and on-site visits limited, we focused on regular updates and clear collaboration to keep the process running smoothly. The final design honored their goals, bringing together Montana craftsmanship, mountain durability, and a floor plan that makes hosting family easy year-round.

The Outcome

The finished home sits perfectly on its sloped lot in the foothills of Trail Creek. Reclaimed trusses, timber framing, and a walk-out basement help the structure feel timeless and sturdy. It’s the kind of home that’s ready for both summer fly fishing trips and winter ski weekends. The house is designed for flexibility, with open gathering spaces, durable finishes, and a layout that can easily welcome kids, grandkids, and guests.

Nearly two decades later, the home remains a favorite of the family. They continue to use it regularly and remain in touch with our team, making it a standout part of our Montana custom home portfolio.
